Vanilla Custard Sandwich

By now if you have understood me a little, then it won’t be difficult for you to guess, gauge and acknowledge, that other things being variable, the one thing that constantly exists in my thought is food. Thus, naturally the quantum of logics and theories regarding food that cross my mind is relatively little higher compared to others. And few days back, while experiencing similar flow of thoughts related to food, I started pondering on one thought, ‘what are the factors that are crucial for creating a good dish?’ After putting some time and energy, I came to the conclusion – it should be taste and imagination.

Yes, there are other factors like fresh ingredients, texture, proper cooking, temperature etc. do play their role. But at the end of the day to decide which one is right, one ultimately needs to taste it. And when I say taste, it encompasses everything, touch, smell, seeing, feeling, tasting through tongue etc. To create good food we need to experience, to understand flavour, aroma and the texture of a food. We also need to know which flavour will enhance a dish and which flavour will go against a dish.

Similarly, the second factor which is important for creating and most importantly to innovate a good dish is your imagination. As Gautam Buddha had said, ‘What you imagine you create’. It is with the power of imagination and experience of taste, that help us blend the flavours, which have never been tried before, or tweak the dish by adding some ingredients, surprisingly never thought of. It is imagination and taste that sometimes give us the courage, even to the extent of combining dishes and creating unbelievable masterpieces. One such similar masterpiece is “Vanilla Custard Sandwich’, which is nothing but an outcome of my sincere hardwork, called ‘eating heartily’😊, that resulted in my thorough understanding of the traits of the ingredients, and thus allowing me to imagine a dish with few simple tweaks and additions.

If I have to be honest, I never tasted the dish ‘Vanilla Custard Sandwich,’ before I decided to include the same in my blog. But I did taste vanilla custard and butter toasted bread innumerable times, although separately, and deep inside me, somehow, I knew the combination would work. So, with this confidence I went ahead and gave a life to this imagination – ‘Vanilla Custard Sandwich’, which obviously turned-out way beyond my expectation.

Here is the step-by-step recipe for you to try.
